Stone architecture and brick masonry remain largely intact across the elevated plateau. Archaeological finds included Roman silver coins and Satavahana-era lead coins, indicating trade connections with the Roman Empire. The site features a series of water cisterns carved into the rock to harvest rainwater for the monastic community. It was identified and excavated by the Andhra Pradesh State Archaeology Department following its discovery during a survey in 1976.
