The facility features a digital planetarium that provides immersive sky-viewing experiences. An outdoor exhibit displays a F5D Skylancer, an experimental aircraft piloted by Armstrong during his career as a test pilot. The site serves as a formal repository for a vast collection of personal items and historical records from the astronaut's life and career. The museum is operated by the Ohio History Connection in partnership with the Armstrong Air & Space Museum Association.
