Overview

Rozhledna Velký Roudný is a 20-meter high wooden observation tower situated on the summit of the Velký Roudný volcano, the highest peak of the Nízký Jeseník range. The current structure, opened in 2007, sits at an elevation of 780 meters above sea level and provides panoramic views of the Jeseníky Mountains, the Slezská Harta reservoir, and the Beskydy range. The mountain itself is a dormant stratovolcano characterized by its distinct conical shape and significant volcanic deposits, including basalt. Visitors ascend through a forest path to reach the site, which serves as a landmark for regional geology enthusiasts. The tower remains freely accessible to the public year-round, weather permitting.
