Overview

Mirador de Entrelagos is a high-altitude observation point located within the Picos de Europa National Park, offering a panoramic view of the Enol and Ercina glacial lakes. The viewpoint is situated at an elevation of approximately 1,100 meters above sea level. It serves as a central vantage point for observing the geological landscape created by glacial action in the Cantabrian Mountains. The surrounding area is part of the first National Park established in Spain. The site is accessible via the mountain road leading up from the Covadonga sanctuary. Its position allows for a simultaneous view of the two distinct lakes, separated by the Las Reblagas plateau.

Insider tips

Bring a windbreaker or layers regardless of the season, as mountain weather changes rapidly.

Ensure your footwear has a good grip, as the terrain around the viewpoint can be loose or slippery.

Check local weather cameras for cloud cover, as visibility can be zero on misty days.

What to avoid

Do not attempt to feed the semi-wild cattle or horses roaming the area, as they are not domesticated pets.

Good to know

Access to the mountain road is restricted to public transport (buses) during high season, summer months, and certain public holidays; private vehicles are prohibited during these times.

Etiquette

Strictly pack out all trash and keep to marked trails to protect the fragile alpine ecosystem and grazing livestock.
