Lake Balsys is officially classified as one of the deepest lakes in the Vilnius district, reaching depths of approximately 39 meters.

The surrounding landscape was shaped by the Pliuciai-Balsys glacial complex, which created the steep, eroded slopes characteristic of this shoreline.

Lake Balsys Observation Deck provides an elevated vantage point overlooking Lake Balsys, one of the deepest and clearest bodies of water within the Vilnius region. The deck sits on the northern edge of the lake, integrated into the hilly, forested terrain of the Verkiai Regional Park. It is constructed from wood and metal, designed to provide a stable, panoramic view of the basin without disturbing the surrounding slope vegetation. The lake itself is a kettle lake formed by retreating glaciers, known for its distinctively clean, deep-blue water. Visitors access the deck via a pedestrian path leading from the Naujanerių Sodų area.
