Overview

The Museum-Manor 'Boat of Peter I' is a historical site located on Gremyach Hill overlooking Lake Pleshcheyevo. It preserves the 'Fortuna', the only surviving vessel from Peter the Great's 'toy flotilla' built in the late 17th century. The estate includes a 19th-century 'White Palace' used for gala receptions, a rotunda, and an obelisk commemorating the Russian Navy. It marks the birthplace of the Russian fleet, where Peter I practiced naval maneuvers as a youth. The site operates as a branch of the Pereslavl-Zalessky State Museum-Reserve. Visitors can view the original hull of the 'Fortuna' inside a purpose-built boat house. The surrounding park features preserved historical landscaping and views of the lake. It remains one of the oldest provincial museum estates in Russia.
