Overview

Griffon is a floorless dive coaster located at Busch Gardens Williamsburg that features a 205-foot vertical drop at a 90-degree angle. The ride employs B&M dive coaster technology, utilizing wide trains that seat ten riders across per row. It reaches top speeds of approximately 71 miles per hour throughout its layout. The circuit includes two Immelmann loops, a second drop, and a splashdown finale. As a floorless coaster, riders' feet dangle directly above the track to increase the sense of exposure. It was the world's tallest and fastest floorless dive coaster upon its 2007 opening. The ride is situated in the France section of the theme park.

Photo spot

The pedestrian bridge overlooking the splashdown pool provides the best angle to capture the train hitting the water.
