The complex serves as a significant spiritual center for the Imathia region, under the jurisdiction of the Holy Metropolis of Veroia, Naousa, and Kampania. The central church (katholikon) houses a revered icon of the Virgin Mary, which is the focus of local religious processions. In 2011, the monastery gained attention for the uncovering of the relics of Saint Loukas the Surgeon, which are now housed within the complex. The architecture incorporates traditional Byzantine elements, including stone masonry and tiled roofs. It functions as a monastic community, and the grounds include auxiliary buildings, guest quarters, and landscaped gardens. The site is noted for its panoramic views over the plains of Imathia.
